ANDY PORTA
Andy Porta is a lifelong musician with deep roots in a family of singers and instrumentalists. His journey began with a worn-out drum set found at a garage sale, sparking a passion for music and art.Growing up, Andy experimented with cassette recorders, Casio keyboards, and drums, eventually joining neighborhood bands. Guided by his father, a bassist and recording enthusiast, he recorded his first multi-track session, cementing his love for drumming and production.
Now a key figure in the New England/Tri-state music scene, Andy plays with Wess Meets West, featured on Audiotree Live, ESPN's X-Games, and major commercials. He collaborates and plays with artists Zeme Libre, Sound Around Us and his solo project, Stray Bikes. After graduating from Mercy College's Music Technology program, he has shared stages with acts like Caspian, Seun Kuti, The English Beat, Dead To Me, Pray For Sound and The Misfits and has worked with industry legends including Blue Oyster Cult.
In June 2019, Andy won the Vintage King Audio Spring Mix Contest, and in 2023, he performed at the ArcTangent Music Festival in Bristol, UK, alongside bands like Converge and Russian Circles.
Andy is passionate about producing across genres—from metal to funk—and embraces creativity in the studio. Currently, he serves as an audio engineer at Maine Music Mill while working as a freelance mix engineer, producer, and educator/counselor.
